    Shark liver

    Description

    Particularly used for its richness in squalene and alkylglycerols (AKG), shark liver has been known since the Middle Ages by Scandinavian and Japanese fishermen who used to call it a "panacea".

    AKGs are lipids that stimulate haematopoiesis, the function by which the body produces and renews the figurative elements of the blood (red and white blood cells and platelets).

     

    Haematopoiesis corresponds to the differentiation of haematopoietic stem cells that can generate myeloid lineage cells (red cells, granulocytes and macrophages), but also lymphoid lineage cells (including B cells, responsible for the production of antibodies, and T cells).

    According to an in vivo study published in 2012, alkylglycerols also have immunostimulant activity.

    The benefits

      • According to another study published in 2010, shark liver oil contributes to the reduction of lesions caused by radiotherapy.
      • Due to its beneficial effects, shark liver oil is an accompaniment before, during and after chemotherapy and radiotherapy.

     

    Special features of THERASCIENCE Laboratory

    The shark liver oil proposed by the THERASCIENCE Laboratory is derived from sustainable fishing, adopting eco-responsible practices that respect the environment and do not target endangered species.

    In order to ensure the stability of the fatty acids and omega-3, a TotOx index (total oxidation rate) is established to determine the oxidation state of the oils. The lower the index, the less the oil is oxidized.
