An exclusive patented manufacturing process
Developed over 30 years ago in Japan, AHCC® is now used in more than 20 countries. Its reliability is based on a solid scientific foundation: nearly 100 scientific publications, including more than 60 referenced on PubMed, and over 30 clinical studies conducted in humans with 1 g of AHCC®, attest to its relevance.
AHCC® is a patented active ingredient obtained from the fermentation of shiitake cells (Lentinula edodes) carefully selected for their superior activity among several hundred fungal strains.
This rigorous, unique and patented process includes several successive steps: cultivation of shiitake cells, multi-phase fermentation (in fermenters up to 15,000 L), separation and concentration of active fractions. This production method ensures the stability, purity, and reproducibility of the AHCC® shiitake culture extract.
During this process, the mushroom’s enzymes naturally convert their polysaccharides into acylated alpha-glucans (α-1,4 glucans), active compounds that have demonstrated efficacy.
Moreover, the alpha-glucans from AHCC® have a low molecular weight (less than 5,000 Daltons). This unique structure promotes rapid and optimal absorption by the body and contributes to the clinical efficacy of AHCC®. These characteristics give AHCC® a unique action profile.
