COD LIVER OIL
Description
A grandmother's remedy, cod liver oil is used in particular to combat rickets and to promote bone growth and intellectual development in children.
This is not its only use, as cod liver oil contains fatty acids from the omega-3 family, including EPA (eicosapentaenoic acid) and DHA (docosahexaenoic acid). These fatty acids are not synthesised by the body and are therefore called "essential". They help maintain normal heart function and good vision.
In addition, cod liver oil is rich in vitamins, including vitamins A, D and E. Cod liver oil thus reinforces immunity by promoting the stimulation of immune cells.
