Lactobacillus plantarum BG112
Description
Lactobacillus plantarum BG112 is a Gram-positive lactic acid bacterium, found in sauerkraut, sourdough and dairy products.
This bacterium, naturally present in the human microbiota, has beneficial antibacterial effects against Gram-negative pathogenic bacteria found in the intestine.
In addition, clinical studies have shown that Lactobacillus plantarum contributes to the stimulation of the immune system. Other studies have also shown a reduction in the frequency of diarrhoea caused by the antibiotic-resistant pathogen Clostridium difficile.
Furthermore, in vivo studies show that Lactobacillus plantarum contributes to the protection of the liver while promoting the reduction of hyperlipidemia and non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NASH). Last but not least, Lactobacillus plantarum is a bacterium that also has antioxidant properties.
