Coenzyme Q10 is an antioxidant present throughout the body, particularly in the heart, the mucous membranes of the gums and stomach, the liver, the kidneys, the prostate... It protects the body from damage caused by free radicals (oxidative stress). Cholesterol and coenzyme Q10 are both produced naturally in the liver and share the same biochemical processes.
