    Maltodextrin, a source of carbohydrates, has been subject to an in-depth scientific evaluation by the European Food Safety Authority (EFSA):

    Carbohydrates contribute to the recovery of normal muscle function (contraction) after very intense and/or prolonged physical exercise leading to muscle fatigue and depletion of glycogen stores in skeletal muscles. This claim mainly concerns adults who have performed very intense and/or prolonged physical exercise.

    The beneficial effect is obtained with the consumption of carbohydrates, from all sources, at a total dose of 4 g per kg of body weight, in divided intakes starting within the first four hours following very intense and/or prolonged physical exercise leading to muscle fatigue and depletion of glycogen stores in skeletal muscles, and no later than 6 hours after this exercise.
