Vitamin D3 (cholecalciferol), the biologically active precursor form of vitamin D in the body, plays an essential role in numerous physiological functions. Naturally synthesized by the skin under the effect of UVB rays, it is nicknamed the « sunshine vitamin ». However, due to insufficient sun exposure, especially in winter, and in heavily polluted urban areas where UVB rays struggle to penetrate the atmosphere, 30 to 60% of Europeans have a deficiency, a rate that exceeds 60% among women and older adults.

Essential for bone and muscle health, vitamin D3 contributes to the mineralization of teeth, the maintenance of normal blood calcium levels and the proper functioning of the immune system. A deficiency can lead to fatigue, muscle weakness, bone fragility and weakened immune defenses.

Diet and skin synthesis are often not enough to cover daily needs, hence the value of targeted supplementation to preserve immunity and bone health.

The vitamin D used in our formulas is natural, present in cholecalciferol (D3) form, recognized for its bioavailability and optimal assimilation by the body. This is the form naturally produced by the skin under the action of UVB rays. This form stands out for its superior bioavailability compared to vitamin D2 (ergocalciferol). Vitamin D3 is fat-soluble, allowing it to be efficiently stored in the body and to maintain an optimal blood vitamin D level.

The vitamin D3 used in PHYSIOMANCE^® D-Nat 1000 is produced from sheep’s wool, with lanolin, also known as « wool wax ». Vitamin D3 is obtained by exposing lanolin to UVB radiation with a wavelength similar to that of sunlight. This triggers a natural photochemical conversion reaction, similar to the one that occurs in our body, producing vitamin D crystals that no longer contain lanolin. As a result, the vitamin D thus obtained is perfectly natural and of high purity.

To formulate our natural vitamin D3-based solutions, we selected a neutral carrier: a first cold-pressed organic olive oil.

Our first cold-pressed organic olive oil guarantees a natural, high-quality lipid carrier.
