LIFENOL®

LIFENOL® : A PATENTED HOP EXTRACT WITH CLINICALLY PROVEN EFFICIENCY ON HOT FLUSHES

Female hop cones are particularly indicated to tackle menopausal disorders. Recent studies have revealed the link between the oestrogenic activity of hops and their concentration of 8-prenylnaringenin, considered as the most active phytoestrogen known so far.

The Lifenol® hop extract present in PHYSIOMANCE Oestronat is a specific extract of female hop cones standardised in prenylflavonoids, including 8-prenylnaringenin. This extract is obtained by a patented process guaranteing the plant profile and its titration in 8- prenylnaringenin. This profile is associated with effectiveness studies on menopausal disorders and, in particular, hot flushes.

A first randomised clinical study was carried out in a double-blind, placebo-controlled settings in 67 menopausal women1.

Health professionals' evaluation was made using the Kupperman index, a scientifically validated test used as a general barometer of menopausal disorders.

A second randomised, double-blind, placebo-controlled crossover clinical study was conducted in 36 postmenopausal women 2.
