Description

Hibiscus, also known as kakarde, is a plant native to West Africa and grown in tropical regions. Hibiscus sabdariffa belongs to the Malvaceae botanical family. Its characteristic red flowers are used in phytotherapy. The flowers contain anthocyanosides, which give them their colour. Anthocyanosides are also known for their anti-inflammatory properties.

Hibiscus flowers also contain flavonoids with antioxidant properties. This plant has an antispasmodic effect and, thanks to its diuretic action, helps to eliminate water from the kidneys.

In addition, its active ingredients have cholagogue properties, meaning that they encourage the evacuation of bile into the intestine. In this way, hibiscus aids fat digestion.

The infusion of hibiscus flowers is a well-known drink, bissap, which can be drunk hot or cold, for a perfect refreshing effect. Ideal for combining business with pleasure!

Benefits

Hibiscus flowers are traditionally used to aid elimination and drain the body. Hibiscus also helps to aid digestion and maintain regular bowel movements..
