Lactobacillus casei LC03



Lactobacillus casei LC03 is a lactic acid bacterium belonging to the Firmicutes. It is notably present in fermented dairy products. Its Latin name "casei" literally means "from cheese" and indicates the food in which this lactobacillus is found.


This bacterium is part of the human microbiota and develops particularly in the small intestine. Lactobacillus casei has beneficial effects on health, particularly in terms of modulating the immune system. In addition, this lactobacillus also has anti-inflammatory properties.


The benefits of combining Lactobacillus casei LC03 with other bacteria such as Lactobacillus acidophilus, Lactobacillus bulgaricus, Lactobacillus plantarum and Streptococcus thermophilus has been demonstrated in clinical studies in patients suffering from gastroenteritis caused by the antibiotic-resistant pathogen Clostridium difficile.


In addition, other studies have demonstrated the beneficial effect of combining Lactobacillus casei LC03 with specific treatments for the eradication of Helicobacter pylori.
