Formerly known as the intestinal flora, the human intestinal microbiota is home to nearly 10¹⁴ microorganisms, mainly in the small intestine and colon and weighs more than 2 kg. To date, the MetaHit study, published in 2008, has identified more than 1,000 different species (the vast majority of which are of bacterial origin) and more than 3 million different genes (150 times more than the human genome).
In collaboration with Professor Lionel BUENO, Doctor ex emeritus INRA, the THERASCIENCE Laboratory has developed TEOLIANCE^®, a brand of more than 10 food supplements composed of individually microencapsulated strains of microbiota (Probio-protect^®), microencapsulated vitamins and minerals (Suvimine Protect^®), and prebiotics, which have been selected for their synergistic action and scientifically proven effects.
