Description

Used for centuries by the Berbers, argan oil only appeared in Europe at the end of the 20th century. The production of argan oil requires experience. Indeed, the removal of the shell to recover the seeds, from which the oil is extracted, is a particularly delicate operation. About 30 kilos of fruit are needed to obtain half a litre of argan oil, which makes it one of the most expensive oils on the market.

This oil is mainly composed of approximately 34% omega-6, including linoleic acid, omega-9 (46%), as well as saturated fatty acids (palmitic acid and stearic acid) up to 19% and vitamin E. This oil also contains polyphenols, known for their antioxidant properties.

Argan oil is indicated in case of wrinkles, dry or mature skin, chapped skin, cracks or eczema.

The benefits

The antioxidant properties of argan oil due to the presence of vitamin E and polyphenols allow to trap the free radicals responsible for cellular aging. Argan oil also helps to maintain a healthy prostate and normal cell division.

The fatty acids contained in argan oil help moisturise the skin and mucous membranes.
