Rutin

Description

This molecule, which belongs to the huge family of flavonoids, is chemically very similar to quercetin.

Buckwheat is one of the best food sources of rutin. Rutin is also found in citrus fruits (especially in the skin), grapes, red wine, apricots, cherries, blackberries and apple peel.

In these different fruits, rutin is usually combined with other flavonoids.

Clinical studies have investigated the effect of rutin in many areas, including the treatment of venous insufficiency and the relief of osteoarthritis.

The benefits

  • Antioxidant: Rutin plays a role in preventing skin ageing and can legitimately be part of an anti-ageing strategy;
  • Venous circulation: Rutin has a beneficial effect on capillaries and veins, which makes it an interesting ally for good blood circulation.
