Rutin, also known as rutoside or sophorin, is a bioflavonoid. Naturally present in many fruits, vegetables and plants, rutin is believed to be responsible for their brown colour. It is found in Sophora japonica, capers, black olives, onions, buckwheat, Ginkgo biloba and asparagus. Rutin is an antioxidant with multiple benefits. It is attributed in particular to beneficial effects on immunity, blood circulation (haemorrhoids, heavy legs, etc.), prevention of skin ageing, the nervous system, etc...
