Royal jelly is a whitish substance made by young nurse bees. The bee larvae are fed with it at the beginning of their life to be able to develop. The queen bee, however, can consume it throughout her life, hence the name "royal" jelly. Its virtues on cell ageing are partly attributed to the fact that the queen bee, which feeds exclusively on it, is much bigger than other bees and lives for 5 or 6 years, while the active life of the workers hardly exceeds 45 days.
Royal jelly is particularly rich in essential amino acids and contains all the B-group vitamins, especially vitamins B5 and B6. It is also rich in minerals and trace elements such as calcium, copper, iron and phosphorus.
Using advice
