The THERASCIENCE Laboratory selected the organic Cordyceps CordycepsPrime™ (strain originating CS-4, certified by DNA test), with properties identical to the wild mushroom and guaranteeing consistent quality. This strain, widely documented in the scientific literature, has demonstrated its effectiveness through more than 30 clinical studies.

Derived from fermentation, CordycepsPrime™ contains numerous active principles, such as polysaccharides, cordycepic acid, adenosine, but also amino acids, ergosterol as well as vitamins (A, B1, B2, B12, C, D, E and K) and minerals. Our standardized Cordyceps (mycelium) extract presents a high extraction ratio of 50:1.

Our formulas exclusively use their active part, without cultivation substrate, in order to preserve and concentrate the mushrooms’ molecules of interest. As for Cordyceps CordycepsPrime™, the innovative fermentation process used makes it possible to guarantee the presence of the active principles of interest while ensuring the absence of organic solvent.

Expertise from harvest to extract

Once harvested, the mushrooms are hand-checked and immediately dried under optimal conditions to preserve their quality. Only those with irreproachable quality are selected and authorized for processing.

In order to preserve their molecules of interest, our mushrooms are obtained through a gentle drying process, followed by very fine grinding according to the “shellbroken” method, which mechanically breaks the mushroom cell walls, facilitating the release of active principles. The extraction of active molecules from the mushrooms is then carried out under optimal conditions, without organic solvent.

Our Chaga, Hericium, Reishi and Maitake extracts are obtained by aqueous extraction, during which the ground mushrooms are placed in decoction for several hours at a controlled temperature, without boiling. This gentle method makes it possible to preserve the structure of the active molecules of the mushrooms. This step requires real technical expertise.

Indeed, each mushroom species requires specific parameters of duration and temperature to optimally release its compounds of interest, particularly polysaccharides. In addition, our cordyceps is obtained by fermentation, then hot-air dried for 5 hours under optimal conditions, in order to guarantee a pure extract, without solvent.

Analysis and traceability: controlled mushrooms

The quality of the mushrooms selected in MUSHROOMSSENTIEL^® is essential to guarantee the safety, purity and effectiveness of the powder and extracts used. Their control makes it possible to ensure rigorous compliance with standards and optimal consistency from one batch to another. Each batch of raw materials is subject to a rigorous quality control, carried out according to standard operating procedures and in compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).

These controls include several analytical steps intended to guarantee the purity, compliance and safety of fungal extracts. One of the key methods used is size exclusion chromatography (SEC), a state-of-the-art technique allowing precise measurement of the quantity of polysaccharides present in mushroom extracts. This method also provides a unique chromatographic fingerprint for each species, serving as an identity profile.
