Your intestinal flora, the first line of defence
Did you know that 70% of our immune cells are concentrated in the intestine? This flora is too often neglected, even though it is one of the body's first lines of defence, and certainly the most important. Help your body to better defend itself and manage external aggressions by strengthening your intestinal flora!
Intestinal flora, the spearhead of your immune system !
3 days after birth, the digestive tract already contains 1,000 billion bacteria. For children born naturally, their intestinal flora comes from their mother's; for children born by caesarean section, on the other hand, it is formed by environmental bacteria. Subsequently, the flora will evolve according to lifestyle (mainly diet), pathologies and the medicines ingested.
Staying healthy requires an efficient defence system. When we know that 70% of the immune cells are located in the intestinal ecosystem, we understand its importance and that of the intestinal flora which plays a fundamental role in it...
The role played by the intestinal ecosystem in the immune system is not well known, but it is essential! A real natural barrier against external aggressors (pathogens, bacteria, viruses, etc.), it is also our body's primary immune organ.
However, a certain number of factors can influence our intestinal flora: age, recurrent infections, excessive stress, frequent antibiotic treatments, unbalanced diet... These factors can weaken our flora and thus weaken our immune system. In these cases, probiotics are precious allies!
Micro-organisms ingested live in sufficient and regular quantities, they reinforce the action of friendly bacteria already present in the intestine, prevent the proliferation of undesirable germs and restore the balance of the intestinal flora. They also allow a better assimilation of carbohydrates, lipids, proteins, fibres, vitamins, minerals and trace elements by our organism.
