Cannabidiol (CBD) is one of the 600 active compounds found in hemp (Cannabis sativa), also known as 'cannabis' or 'Indian hemp'. Within this plant, CBD is the most abundant molecule in the phytocannabinoid family.
Isolated from hemp flowers for the first time in 1940, CBD is sometimes confused with another phytocannabinoid from cannabis: THC (tetrahydrocannabinol).
Although this confusion may be due to the structural proximity of the two molecules, it is exacerbated by the fact that the CBD extracts used are not always pure and contain a very small amount of THC.
However, CBD and THC do not have the same effects on the body. In particular, CBD does not cause a narcotic effect or dependency, and does not alter the state of consciousness, unlike THC.
THERASCIENCE special features
The THERASCIENCE Laboratory has selected a pure CBD isolate from an organic hemp extract naturally rich in phytocannabinoids. Our CBD isolate has the particularity of being very pure (over 99%) and guaranteed to contain 0.00% THC (verified by a double analysis). Our CBD is combined with organic hemp seed oil obtained by first cold pressing.
CBD is the object of more than 8964 scientific publications.
